Microsoft consistently has something new and exciting up its sleeve. Last month, Microsoft did not disappoint during this annual conference, Ignite, which they virtually hosted. Ignite is typically one of the venues where new announcements and enhancements are revealed. This year, these announcements spanned multiple products and business needs and are sure to provide assistance in your office.
Microsoft Viva is now available to all:
Earlier this year, Microsoft introduced a new Suite of Products called Viva. Viva includes four modules: Viva Connections, Viva Insights, Viva Topics, and Viva Learning. This new compilation of products brings together knowledge, communication, learning, insights, and resources into the workflow. As of now, the four modules which make up the new “Viva Suite” are now available to all.
Hybrid Meeting for Teams:
Microsoft Teams now includes and hybrid meeting format called Mesh. This new format allows meetings to have a unique experience via personalized avatars. Through your avatar, you can connect and engage without turning on your camera. In addition, you are now able to create new “spaces” that resemble actual physical spaces such as conference rooms, networking lounges, and design centers to build culture, induce creativity and create conversation in the workplace.
Teams also have a few new capabilities within meetings, which include:
- Assigning roles from the scheduling form
- Seeing the order of raised hands in a meeting
- The ability to mute notifications and pin or hide your own video
In addition to these new and exciting enhancements, Microsoft also announced a preview that will be coming soon. This new product is called Microsoft Defender for Business, and it will be an end-point security solution that will be specific for businesses that range from 1-300 employees. This new software will help elevate security through next-generation protection, endpoint detection and response, threat and vulnerability management, and automated investigation and remediation.
